An array of industry people assembled at Eagle Radio, Guildford yesterday to celebrate the launch of RadioWise, a training provider aimed at nurturing existing and emerging radio talent. Amongst the guests were representatives from OfCom, Skillset, Radio Centre, the BBC, plus a number of speakers and students who will take part in the first courses. The event coincided with the opening of Eagle Radio’s new state of the art studios. Today also saw the launch of RadioWise’s website - www.radiowise.co.uk - which outlines in detail the range of courses available for booking now. With courses ranging from one day (New Presentation; Content Generation and Introduction to Radio) to an eight day Foundation Course, RadioWise provides a broad offer. Director Jo Cassey commented, RadioWise is aware that in today’s climate people need to ensure they have a breadth of skills to enable them to be competitive in the market place; RadioWise offers a range of courses to enable individuals to upskill or refresh their skills, delivered by some of the biggest names in radio today, making it a real-time radio training experience. Director Bob Hoad commented, Following today’s launch of RadioWIse we are delighted with the initial response we have had from interested students, confirming that there is a real need for industry-led training courses. In addition the support and encouragement for RadioWise from radio colleagues has given us a really excellent start.
